FURUNO named best radar for 40th consecutive year, plus awards for best fish finder and AIS at 2015 NMEA show

Camas, WA – October 8, 2015

For 44 years, the National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA) has bestowed their coveted NMEA Best Product Awards to marine electronics manufacturers for product excellence. Over that time, Furuno has received the honor of being the most recognized company in the marine electronics field with an all-time total of 215 wins. This year, Furuno won three more NMEA awards at the prestigious 2015 NMEA Conference & Expo in Baltimore, MD, including their 40th straight Best Radar Award.

"Being recognized by the NMEA in any category is an honor, but winning the Product of Excellence Award for Radar 40 years in a row is special," stated Brad Reents, President and CFO of Furuno USA.
"This exemplifies the commitment that Furuno has made and continues to make in our core technologies. We are very appreciative and humbled that the dealers who vote for these awards can see our commitment to excellence."
The product that received the Product of Excellence award for Radar is Furuno's FR8065 UHD Radar. The FR8065 is a 6kW, Open Radar Array, that incorporates Furuno's UHD Digital Radar processing for ultimate target detection and performance.

Accolades for Furuno continued with the DFF1-UHD TruEcho™ CHIRP Fish Finder, winning the Product of Excellence Fish Finder category.
